Ever since you starred in your high school production of Cats, you knew you belonged in the spotlight. It’s just too bad that since your drama department’s “Class of ‘92 Senior Awards Gala”, nobody’s taken notice.
There are hundreds of people like you congregating in NYC to demand the attention they deserve. Improv Everywhere, an organization of talented “special agents”, stages incredible scenes across the city, to the surprise of unassuming strangers.
Missions include:
“Food Court Musical”, where 16 agents staged an all-out musical at a shopping mall’s “Hot Dog on a Stick”
“Frozen Grand Central”, where more than 200 agents walked through Grand Central Station and froze at exactly the same time for two straight minutes, overwhelming and scaring travelers
“Best Buy”, where 80 agents wore the classic uniform of blue polos and khakis, and saturated the sales floor of a NYC Best Buy
“Haunted House”, where agents decorated and haunted a subway car
“No Shirts” where 111 agents shopped, posed and hung out shirtless in an Abercrombie & Fitch
Videos, ideas and an informative blog are are available on the Improv Everywhere web site. Don’t worry if you aren’t in the area, as there are Improv Everywhere Global Groups forming. So you can finally enjoy the limelight again. Without whiskers on.
